Giroux Design Group Inc. is committed to providing you with the best in residential home and commercial building design. For four generations the Giroux family has been providing quality custom home and building design services across Canada, the United States and Internationally. We are proud of our heritage in the design industry and carry on the traditions that have allowed us to stay in business since 1950.
Along with our long history of custom residential and building design, we have been involved in providing stock home plans through magazines and the internet for over 70 years. Our home plans have appeared in publications such as The Best of Better Homes & Gardens, Better Homes & Garden's Editors' Choice, Woman's Day Favorite Home Plans, Metropolitan Home, Good Housekeeping Home Plans, Creative Homeowner Publications, Okanagan Home, and many more. Today through our network of designers we are recognized internationally as a respected leader in residential and commercial building design.
Godfrey (Joe) Giroux ASTTBC.AScT, RBD
1919-2015
In 1950 Joe Giroux began designing homes in Penticton which is located in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Very soon after, Joe began publishing home plan catalogues allowing customers across western Canada to purchase affordable ready to build house plans. By the 1960’s, under the trade name Westhome Planners, he had become established as a leader in residential and commercial building design in Western Canada and the Northwest United States. Joe remained with the company for over 50 years before retiring and has a legacy of upright business dealings that continues to live on.
Michael Giroux ASTTBC.AScT, RBD, PTech, Architectural Technologist AIBC
Michael Giroux carried on the family tradition beginning work as a building designer in 1968 along with his father Joe. During the 1980’s Michael worked to expand the business to serve customers across Canada and the United States, and by the end of that decade had reached an international market selling home plans in Europe, Central America, South America, the Middle East, the South Pacific and Asia. Creating strong ties with North America’s top designers he has been able to provide clients with a premiere collection of residential house and building designs. Mike is on the Board of Directors for the BC Association of Building Designers.
Tony Giroux ASTTBC.CTech, RBD
In 1991 another generation of the Giroux family continued the family’s design heritage when Tony Giroux began working with his grandfather Joe and father Michael. In 2003 he became the manager of the Custom Home and Building Design Department and is now the owner of Giroux Design Group Inc. Other members of the family also help carry on the family tradition of designing homes and buildings with the same passion for helping clients dreams turn into realities. With a network of designers working across Canada, the United States and Belize, Giroux Design Group works at both designing custom homes and buildings and modifying existing stock house and building plans for clients around the world. Tony is the President of the BC Association of Building Designers.
